Join Our Team
4-H Alberta is seeking a Youth Coordinator to join our team working from anywhere in Alberta and Westerose, AB part time durring summer programs.
The Summer Programs and Youth Development Coordinator reports to the Chief Programs & Delivery Officer. This position is a full time salary position. The hours are variable depending on business requirements, subject to Alberta Employment Standards regarding hours of work and rest. Time in lieu is tracked based on each hour worked beyond 8 hours per day or 44 hours per week, whichever is greater.
The Coordinator is responsible for:
- Provincial Level Youth Programming – Including but not limited to: 4-H Alberta Summer Programs and camps for all ages also Youth Member leadership development programs (Senior Symposium Spring and Fall, Club Week, YLEAD)
- Management of Summer Program Coordinators (Summer Staff)
- Program Development, implementation, evaluation and review of provincial level youth programs
- Leading the coordination of youth leadership roles, including training, communication, and implementation. Youth leadership role examples: Youth Leaders, Ambassadors
- Developing 4-H Alberta youth program resources – guides, program plans, activity plans etc
- Additional youth programming requirements as needed when time allows.
- Degree in education or recreational related fields (recommended)
- Experience working with Youth of all ages
- Experience with youth program development, review, and instruction
- Exceptional teamwork skills
- Ability to collaborate and work well alongside people of all ages
- Experience in a rural community setting or working with people in rural locations
- Attention to detail
- Strong leadership skills
- Experience with and/or Knowledge of 4-H
- Experience with summer youth overnight programs
- Communication with 4-H Leaders, Members, Staff, and other supporters
- Program resource development
- Program planning and scheduling
- Online Registration System utilization and management
- Program delivery and instruction
- 4-H Committee support
- Use of G-Suite
- Collection and presentation of programming feedback
- Reviewing of new and existing programs
- Traveling to Alberta 4-H Centre and program locations as required
- Attending regular staff and team meetings over Zoom and Google Meet as necessary
- Hiring and managing the summer program coordinator staff team.
- Facilitating training for 4-H volunteers to create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for youth.
- Developing and assisting with distribution of operational resources for the provincial 4-H community.
- Collecting and analyzing participant feedback to make data-driven decisions on improvements to programs.
- Administrator duties for the online registration system that houses 4-H Alberta member, volunteer, club, and program information.
- Budgeting and managing program finances.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for program logistics, inquiries and emergencies.
- Collaborating with the 4-H staff in all departments such as fund development, marketing, area coordinators and community to create and deliver relevant and valuable opportunities.
- Working in harmony with the Chief Programs & Delivery Officer and other program coordinators to review and elevate the quality and execution of current and new 4-H programs

Salary: From $60,000.00 per year
