2024 Calgary Region Funspiel

You must have registered online before February 9/24 in order to participate

Schedule: Doors open at 8:30am

Draw times: 9:00am, 10:00am, 11:00am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm. Please note that your club will be contacted with your team’s draw time(s).

Rules and Procedures:

1) Register your team before going on the ice: Name of skip, name of 4-H Club.
2) Be sure to have your team ready to play at the time you are drawn.
3) All games are 4 ends. All games to be played to the full ends
4) Each rink will curl 3 games, CURLERS ONLY on the ice area.
5) When marking your score card, put the name of the winning skip on the top line, and the losing
skip name on the second line. Put the ends won and blanked – also mark correct game score. 6)Your card should be handed to one of the scorekeepers.
7) The procedure for tallying the card is, four points for a win, one point for each end scored, and
one half point for each rink for a blank end. The team with the most points in each section is the
winner. In the event of a tie in a section, the total game scores will determine a winner.
8) There will be three sections of events on how the teams do in their first two games….1st Event…the
teams winning their first two games. 2nd Event…the teams winning one game and losing one game.
3rd Event…the teams losing their first two games.
9) In the case of changing skips between events, the original skips name must remain with the
registered (original) team. In other words, a stand-in skip assumes the name of the original skip as
far as records are concerned.
10) All rinks must be composed of four (4) current members of 4-H clubs plus a chaperon.
11) Three curlers must be 12 years old on or before February 19th, 2024.
12) Teams arriving 5-15 minutes late for the draw will give up 1 end, 15 to 30 minutes – 2 ends, etc.
13) No street shoes are allowed on the playing surface.
14) Do not bring outside restaurant food into the curling club.
