Who is running this camp?

Hello, My name is Jody Wacowich and I have been a 4-H leader for 8 years (I was a member for 8).  I also worked as summer camp staff for 4-H one summer.  I have led archery for several years and I am a trained Competitive Development Archery Coach.  I am passionate about growing archery as a project here in Alberta (by helping members and leaders/parents learn) and I am the Chair of the SALTT committee.

Can leaders or parents be involved?

Archery Camp is a unique camp with families having access to attend the camp as well.  We encourage you to come watch, there is a great viewing area in the curling rink.

There is also room for some helpers during the camp. If you are interested in learning about leading or coaching archery, or bringing a program to your club, contact Jody Wacowich to discuss further: 4hleaderjody@gmail.com

Do we have to pack a lunch?

Lunch will be provided on Saturday August 19th and Sunday August 20th. Supper will be provided on Saturday August 19th. Family members can purchase additional tickets if they would like to join the registrants for their meals. There is a lunch counter that is open in the curling rink as well.

What will we do at camp?

Friday: Check in, get to know you, get familiar with the range, possible campfire

Saturday: Introduction, shooting, target and 3D sports, rules, maintenance, outdoor fun, and possible presentation and campfire

Sunday: Competition, fun and wrap up.

Do I need Archery Equipment?

Please bring your own (Bow, arrows, etc.).  We will have someone on site who can help with small fixes. Make sure you have 6-12 arrows for the weekend.

What else do we need to bring?
  • Comfortable clothing for safe shooting (the range is cool, so consider a hoody, that can be taken off when we go outside).
  • Comfortable shoes for shooting and playing.
  • Archery equipment (bow, arrows, case, maintenance equipment etc.)
  • Swim suit (we do have a swim in the schedule if we are able to do it).
  • Smiles and energy, we are going to have lots of fun!

Camp Registration is first come, first serve. Spaces are limited and your spot in the program is not reserved until full payment is received.
