Who Can Attend: 9-18 year olds, open to current members and people new to 4-H

Discover a range of 4-H projects and enhance your leadership and life skills through our innovative 6-session Intro Club. Attend sessions at various Calgary locations for a one-of-a-kind experience. Save the dates for the first three Mondays and Thursdays in June, as this is your final opportunity to participate in the pilot program of the Intro Club. Don’t let this chance slip away!

Experience the power of hands-on learning with our “Learn to Do By Doing” program and get a “Taste of 4-H”! Join us for three unforgettable weeks where you’ll have the chance to explore a wide range of 4-H projects at different locations. From gardening to gelato, baby horses to games, there’s something for everyone to enjoy and remember.

Not only will you have a blast, but you’ll also gain valuable skills along the way. Learn how to run a business meeting, enhance your communication and record-keeping abilities, and make lifelong friends. Our unique projects and activities will help you develop problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills in a supportive and nurturing environment.

This club is open to youth aged 9-18 and lasts for just three weeks, making it the perfect way to wrap up the school year and kick-start your summer. Each location offers a different experience, so get ready for an exciting adventure! Please note that transportation to the various locations is the responsibility of parents or caregivers.

When you register, you’ll receive access to all programming, special guest instructors, necessary supplies, tasty snacks, and a 4-H bag. Come and be a part of the excitement that 4-H has to offer! Join us as we gather together to engage in activities that will allow us to create, play, and explore new and unforgettable experiences. Let’s make lasting memories together!

Thursday, June 13th – 6:30 – 7:30 pm @ Highfield Stock Farm  (402007 96 St E, Aldersyde, AB) The Joy of Baby Horses – Exclusive Tour of Highfield Stock Farm

Nestled in the charming rural landscape close to Okotoks, Highfield Stock Farm, a top-notch breeder of thoroughbred horses, is thrilled to invite Intro Club members for an exclusive tour of their top-of-the-line equine facility. As we explore, we will have the chance to see the mares and their foals in the comfort of their stalls.

*Although this is a very unique opportunity, we understand that not everyone will be able to make this tour. Members are still welcome to register, even if they are not able to attend this workshop.

WEEK #3

Monday, June 17th – 6:00 – 7:00 pm @ Righteous Gelato (221 19 St SE #110, Calgary, AB) Righteous Gelato – A Tour and Tasting Experience

Experience a behind-the-scenes look at where all the magic happens. You’ll get an overview of our company history, a glimpse into our culture, an inside look on how Gelato is made, and best of all, a tasting flight of 6 flavours of your choice from our gelato case! *can accommodate allergens

Thursday, June 20th – 6:00 – 8:30 pm @ Hope Lutheran Church (3527 Boulton Rd NW, Calgary, AB) “Ready to Explore? Choose Your Own Adventure!”

Get ready for a fun-filled workshop experience! Collaborate with fellow members to select your final project and add your personal touch with the guidance of our amazing team. Oh,and guess what? At the end of the day, you can showcase your project to your family.

*Parents and guests will be invited to join us from 7:30 – 8:30 pm for our celebration

What are Intro Clubs?

Intro Clubs are a new 4-H Alberta initiative currently based in Calgary. Intro Clubs are for current 4-H members and for young people new to 4-H (9+).

This is not a traditional 4-H club. Current members with a diary will get one point for attending the duration of an Intro Club as either completing a project or attending a Provincial event.

Provincial Event Registration Policies

Payment of Program/Event Fees

  • 4-H Alberta requires that complete registrations are processed through the online registration system, by the registration deadline, and payment in full has been received, prior to acceptance.
  • 4-H Alberta is responsible for setting fees for all 4-H Alberta programs/events. Each program/event has its own fee.
    • All requests for late registration (after the Regular Registration Deadline) will be accepted at the sole discretion of the program lead
    • GST is included in all 4-H program registration fees.
  • 4-H Alberta reserves the right to:
    • Cancel programs due to insufficient registrations or circumstances out of our control;
    • Reallocate applicants to other similar programs based on applicants choice;
    • Refund the entire registration fee if a suitable alternate program is unavailable.

Insufficient Program/Event Payment

  • Registration is not considered complete until full payment is received.
  • Any cheque returned by the bank  must be reissued and processed prior to the program/event start date. Failure to do so will cancel the delegate’s program registration.
  • 4-H Alberta staff will contact the individual requesting full payment in a timely manner following the bank notification.

Program/Event Registration Cancellation

  • A percentage of the registration fee will be retained on all cancellations to help recover costs and administration process:
    • $0-$50 = no fee
    • $51 or more = 30%
    • Contact programs@4hab.com if you are unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances. Physician notes will be requested when applicable.
  • Cancellations received less than 14 days before the program start date will forfeit the entire registration fee unless a delegate replacement is available or extenuating circumstances are at play.

The 4-H Alberta Program/Event Registration Fee Procedure is subject to change at the discretion of the Program Lead.
