In compliance with the restrictions official announcement made by Alberta Health Services on April 24, 2020, 4-H Alberta has made the decision to suspend all in-person activities and events until Wednesday, September 30, 2020. This also means that all in person summer camps, shows and competitions, and programs have been suspended and will not be delivered in their traditional manner

We have some exciting news for you for summer 2020 regarding virtual shows and real partnership!

The 4-H Alberta Sheep show is celebrating it’s 10th year in 2020, this show is a reflection of the thriving Alberta Sheep industry.  The Sheep Show is great place to learn best practices, connect with like-minded youth and deepen your understanding of the industry.

  • Sharpen your skill base in an industry focused event
  • Get involved at the next level and network
  • Expand your knowledge base beyond the farm gate

Given the new environment that we are faced with, the Sheep Show Committee have come up a new format for the 4-H Alberta Sheep Show. We know that 4-H members have been working hard on their projects and want to give 4-H’ers the opportunity to showcase their female projects. With many areas not having a female show the committees think it is very important to provide this opportunity to sheep members this year!

Join fellow 4-H sheep project enthusiasts from across Alberta for three and a half jam-packed days of competition, networking and all-around sheep bliss! Sharpen your skills in showmanship, judging, grooming and marketing – plus show off your prized project animal in a series of conformation classes! No animal? Don’t worry about it. Either way, you’ll get to learn from experts as they share their knowledge on the latest trends and topics related to the sheep industry.

The sheep industry in Alberta is Strong, Stable and full of Consistency and Quality which is reflected in the 4-H Alberta sheep project!  The Sheep Show is a great place to strengthen your passion for the industry, gain new in-sights and share your vision with other youth and adults from across the province.  This program is for both the first year member in the sheep project and the experienced veteran as the 4-H Alberta Sheep Show always has something NEW to experience.

The program will help to sharpen your husbandry, judging, marketing, showmanship and trimming skills by taking in educational sessions and participating in various competitions.  The added opportunity is to be at the forefront of the industry.  The 4-H Alberta Sheep Show is a great steppingstone to be part of an industry that is thriving in Alberta at the ground floor.  As more producers enter the into the Alberta sheep industry, 4-H Alberta is seeing more members enter into the sheep project across the province.  Expand your knowledge base and be a part of a growing industry in Alberta.
