What we eat has a huge impact on our health, energy, and mood. Knowing the science, safety, and nutrition that goes into eating well allows us to make the best choices for ourselves and our families. 4-H Alberta’s Foods project lays the foundation that every chef relies on by teaching proper food prep techniques, safe cooking temperatures, and the importance of working clean in the kitchen. Members’ attention to detail and time management grows with the practice of measuring and food assembly, and is complemented by the knowledge of how to select quality ingredients and plan healthy meals.
