Good design requires creativity and passion, but it also relies on a solid understanding of math and logistics. Members learn construction basics – textiles, notions, finishes, how to read a pattern—in Level One so that they’re able to bring to turn their ideas into reality. In Level Two, members begin to contemplate colour as they craft their garments, taking their textile knowledge and applying it to construction techniques and fit. Pattern adjustments and advanced construction techniques are covered in Level Three, teaching members the importance of precise calculation and measurement when it comes to putting the finishing touches on their masterpieces. At completion, members will have the confidence to take on design and wardrobe planning for themselves and others, giving them an excellent foundation for an entrepreneurial opportunity.
