Acquiring a precision for cutting, an understanding of how pieces fit together, and knowledge of how to follow a plan or blueprint will serve members well, whether their plan is to pursue welding in a manufacturing context – structural steel, platework, airplanes—or an art and creative one—sculptures, decorative objects and ornaments. Designed for members 15 years and older, the Welding project introduces the basic concepts and science of arc welding, oxyacetylene welding and soldering through hands-on project work that leaders and members decide on together.
