Olds, AB – The 47th Annual Provincial Beef Heifer Show has officially wrapped up, marking yet another successful year for 4-H Alberta. Held from July 11-14, 2023, in Olds, Alberta, the event drew 100 4-H members aged between 9 and 21 years old. These young agricultural enthusiasts participated in various categories, including Showmanship, Multi Judging, Quiz, and Conformation.
The 4-H members arrived in Olds with an outstanding array of projects, showcasing their yearling heifers and cow/calf pairs. The quality of both commercial and purebred cattle was exceptionally high, reflecting the countless hours these young farmers have invested in preparation for this esteemed event.
Over the course of the four-day event, participants adhered to a rigorous schedule that started in the early mornings and extended into the late evenings. The tightly-packed agenda was designed to evaluate the comprehensive skill sets these young agriculturalists have honed over their time in 4-H. Whether they were engaging in showmanship routines, participating in quizzes, or undergoing the critical eyes of the Conformation judges, the 4-H members demonstrated the dedication, expertise, and hard work that is synonymous with the 4-H community.
